Whipper Snapper
Fall is in full swing here in Western New York and home-owners are gearing up for another long winter. Squeezing in the those final outdoor moments to wash the car, rake a few leaves, mow the lawn, and whip some weeds. Wait, what? “Whip the weeds.”
I’m currently employed at the corporate office of a mid-sized retail chain. Our annual warehouse sale is in a few weeks, and my boss plans to touch up the landscape around our office. He’ll bring in his “weed-whipper” this weekend to “whip those weeds.”
Our conversation went like this:
“Will you leave me a note to bring in my weed-whipper this weekend?”
“Whacker.”
“What?”
“I think it’s called a weed-wacker.”
“Whipper.”
“Whipper, Wacker, slice, dice it’s really all the same.”
“Right. Just remind me about the weed-whipper.”
“Sure.”
